Yeah i think the Impreza strut tops gave just over a cm or more lift in the rear. I could put the Impreza tops on the front as well. But I like the old school bogan jacked up rear look:twisted: maybe I could add some tyres with big thick white writing on:twisted::twisted::twisted: It's OK Toonga the...

Yay finally got my Liberty lifted today. I wanted to avoid drilling out the body to fit my OB struts in my Liberty so I visited a few wreckers with diameter measurements of my OB springs and a template of the top bolt pattern I needed. I found some that seemed to measure up OK from a 98 Impreza and ...

I recently rang around for 3rd party. SGIO was pretty cheap and said they could beat any competitor by 10%. Virgin was the cheapest by $30, I went back to SGIO with the Virgin price but they wanted to see documentation, the catch is Virgin won't send out any quotes or documentation until I have paid...

I'm back from my little down south break. Vincentvega yes I think the coil overs are in fairly good condition, I drove the OB car with them in and the car felt OK. On my lunch break today I went to a suspension shop and he agreed that it would be very hard to find hats with the smaller bolt pattern ...

I'm down south with my family at the moment with no Internet connection. I had to sneak away to see how this thread was going. I really want to be at home working on my car and sorting out this strut thing. They seem in good condition I'm going to visit a few wreckers when I get back next week and s...

Are these strut tops interchangable??

Ok If you have been following my other thread I found it difficult to undo the nuts holding the struts in, but I have finally had success:) I have also manage to swap the front struts from 97 Outback into my 92 Liberty BUT......... The rear strut transfer is just not happening. The 3 top b...

Yay A neighbour over the road had a huge breaker bar and a huge ring spanner (twice as big as my spanner)
They still took a lot of effort but they are finally undone :D:D:D all 16 of them  my backs a bit sore.

I agree with no to petrol. When I was about 12 yrs old on a 40 degree day, I chucked a cup of petrol into a 40 gallon upright drum to kick start some rubbish in it I was burning. I went into the house to get some matches, during this time the petrol had started to evaporate forming a vapour cloud ab...

Yep I agree it's not a breaker bar. That's why I put some steel tubing over it to try and get leverage like a breaker bar, I had a 6 point socket but the edges of the socket started to buckle and it got a hairline crack, I then went and bought a 19mm 12 point sidchrome socket and then the bar I was ...

Scored a near new big 19mm sidchrome ring spanner today from cash converters for $10 (I borrowed the other one I was using from my neighbour) Saw them at the auto shop for $30

Yep anti clockwise ;) After a google search I'm not the only one quite a few people have had this issue and they usually end up taking to a "workshop" where they have a rattle gun. I had thought about buying one of those nut crackers, not sure if I could get it into place on the lower inside nut. Th...

Goodness me !! I suppose using a pipe on the end of your new Sidchrome breaker bar? is not covered by warranty? Sometime Confucioos say "try to do up before undo" and sometimes Confucious right, bastards come undone after a tweak in the wrong direction. In here, people have their preferences such a...

Went out and bought a new sidechrome socket came home and managed to undo 2 out of the 16 bolts(2 cars=8 struts) both were the top bolts (and they were just normal not oval) So the bottom nuts that are hard to get at must have the oval bolt. Bent the socket arm on the next bolt, had a day off work t...

Alex there's a bracket that holds the brake line and I read on the internet to just hacksaw through this bend it back and slide out the break line, which I did. Anyway back to the bolts... I must be soft as I have tried a socket and a ring spanner in opposite directions and I couldn't budge it. Sinc...

stuck strut nut

As mentioned in another post I want to take the struts out of an unlicenced Outback and put them in my Liberty But things are not going to plan I've been spraying WD 40 on the nuts and bolts every evening for the last 4 days in preparation as I've read the bottom strut nuts can be hard to undo(that'...
