Ok I might be able to get some struts and springs out of an outback that has done 240000km's I'm still negotiating a price just below $300 Just wondered am I better off getting new KYB stuts and HD King springs as these have had a few km wear? Or should I get these second hand struts and then buy ne...

I think I'm going to go just the 96-98 outback struts, not sure if I should get standard length HD springs or longer HD springs.
I have noticed when people do this the rear wheels look like they move forward a bit?

Ok Thanks for the diagrams and explanations Yarney and Toonga so a strurt lift can be putting on longer outback struts and can also include putting in the 2" blocks as well on top of the struts. and a body lift is putting the blocks on top of the struts plus all those other little blocks and bits be...

thunder039 wrote:how did you go with the 93 model?
Ah well, it was in fair condition but I would have had to take it over the pits and it was a mushy brown colour I wasn't to keen on.
In the meantime Toonga had contacted me about a 92 wagon he was thinking of selling and I'm now buying his one!

I guess I need a bit more clarification on the correct terminology/wording Is a strut lift just putting those little 2'' block triangular type spacers just above the struts? or would this be called a body lift? Or is a strut lift just putting on longer struts like the outback ones? Or is putting lon...

new struts vs lifter kit

I've read pages and pages in this forum on tyre and rim sizes and I've noticed to get bigger rims and tyres to fit a 1st Gen Liberty Some people suggest changing the struts to Outback ones and some suggest putting in a 2" lifter kit. I also understand that even if they are to big they will rub on th...

Thanks for the tips . I don't have buyer envy I have "over the pits fear" I'd hate for the inspectors to give me a huge list of things to fix, that will cost me buckets of money! Plus if it's got no plates I'm not sure how I'm going to get it home and I can't exactly test drive it with no plates, hm...

OK thanks. It looks like I will have to keep looking, I had arranged to see the car at 5.30pm and he just sent me a text at 4.50pm saying it had been sold! So as they weren't a good model probably just as well then, plus I wasn't too keen on the brown colour, I did like the low kms.
