Hate to say it.. Even when you have you it 'finished'. It wont be finished, mines been on the road for at least a month and things just keep popping up. But i did more than just the engine. The crossbred kit is awesome but cos i touched stuff and things arent quite aligned/settled properly yet it st...

Even though you've fixed the problem. I'll throw in what I've found. Like Andrew T said Subarus can be a pain the bum to bleed properly. I've had 3 l series do it to me now. Bled them from the master cylinder etc properly and still a crappy pedal. Even threw another master cylinder on and adjusted t...

I fitted some bigger front shockies to level out my L series and continued designing my rear tyre carrier/rear bar. Lifted the front from 720mm from ground to top of wheel arch to 790mm. But the back is 780mm and also found the rear shockie bottom bush is flogged out making the tyre rub on the sprin...

+1 on the negative side of the coil. There should be 4 wires; illumination (ive had white before), ground (black), power (red), signal (green?) Post a pic :D I had this little tacho on mine for awhile which wasnt too in your face.. just never got around to painting the surround. http://img440.images...

Firstly I replaced the ECU (originally guyph's) with the ECu that came with the liberty that the engine came from. The symptoms have gone. :D No engine fan on constantly, idle is sweet. BUT now after decel coming to a stop it cant seem to find idle. At first i thought the ECU was learning but it has...

I just put a 4 channel 400W amp running one 12" 150w RMS sub, 2 pioneer 6x9 speakers all in a box and 2 4"s speakers at the front into my bunky L series (ei not my lifted, EJ22 one ;) ) The reason simply, I got hold of everything over time and for less than $150. This is the first time ive had more ...

So you could just get a magnet and a generic pulse generator to send that signal to the ECU?

Ill keep that in mind.

Im gonna see if i can get time to throw in the other ECU i have and see what happens..

This is first for me in terms of checking resistances but shouldnt their be very minimal resistance through the wiring.. So basically if there is 'some' resistance it'll be a problem? I have not tried another ECU.. I have the ECU that came out the liberty that the engine came out of. It had a 3 plug...

Well i gotta check it anyway just to confirm if its a dodgy cluster or a resistance issue how ever unlikely it is. In the event of a cluster being dodgy id either have to find another cluster or get a sensor put inline..

Guy, ill get in contact soon and have a look.. umm Dibs lol.

This time I checked the codes properly.. still getting code 33 for the VSS and then i cleared them properly and went for a drive. After about the same time as every other time the engine light came back on. POOP!

Next i guess ill try test the speed sensor and its circuit according to the manual.

So something has happened between when it was running fine and now that doesn't throw a code.. If the AFM was faulty it would throw a code (???) It wouldnt be a vacuum leak cos you would hear it and it would be noticable at idle too.. So yeah fuel pressure test would be your best bet I reckon. But i...

When i cleared the codes originally i did it the 'battery dance" way.. Good point though.

Ill give that a go tomorrow seeing as it is the subaru specified way and see what happens.

Well, i connected the black plugs and im still getting just code 33 for VSS. Connecting just green plugs putting it into test mode (?) gets rid of the light until i start up and go again. I've been checking it and each time it comes back on after roughly 9mins. The manual says that the sensor gives ...
