L series automatic

I read an old advertisement for L series automatic saying that when the wipers come on or under hard breaking and accelerating it automatically switches into 4wd. Do all 3 speed L series do this or is that for the AWD versions?

Exhaust was shagged whole system including y pipe, wheel bearings shot, rack ends shot, rack boots one wasn't even a rack boot and the other appeared to be the factory one, it had the filthiest oil in it and had 5L of oil in it and as a result leakin...

ahh ok just gumtree reckons brumbys have 215mm ground clearance vs 190mm of the L series but that must be with suspension raised up on the brumby.

I like the space plus I feel like the outback looks like a modern L series and I love what the L series gives you.

modern

If one wanted something a little bit more modern but didn't want to go forester. Would a 1997-2000 outback be a good upgrade on an L series? or would it not be an upgrade? Requirements are for the car to yes go off road, and the transmission to be auto. Would the L series be better off road? also wh...

how best to forester

so a friend of mine is looking at getting into suby. she likes the forester. Question is how well do the GT foresters go off road? she will be choosing an auto one regardless. so the low range discussion wouldn't be necessary.

will the running of 98 and advancing the timing decrease fuel economy or increase it? Car I have is an EA82 carby with 178 000 kms on it. Main issues for it is leaking crank seal and proberly needing new plugs and leads before I tune.
