Hi everyone, thought i would start a thread about the Brumby i recently purchased, i wasn't really sure what kind of ute i was looking for, hilux space cab, rodeo etc, they all looked a bit boring, my last ute was a Ford AU XR8 so wanted a 4 cylinder this time, i need a ute for where i live & taking...

nice Brumby mate !! like the carpet around head unit

awesome kelpie too ! i was looking for a kelpie as a mate for my blue heeler but a cool little red heeler cross came up as a rescue dog so got her instead, love the working breeds hey :)

yeah its an auto, lift kit i removed was only suspension lift, it has lift blocks ontop of engine & gearbox crossmembers, i suppose you can either see it as 2 inch body lift over engine & trans, or 2 inch engine & trans drop i suppose

my brumby has King springs fitted up front that have nuts that are adjustable to wind the baseplate under the spring upwards , can go maybe 30mm , would be exactly the same as a 30mm plate under the spring in theory

SUCCESSSSSSS !!!! :-P:-P:-P:-P started today on front strut spacer removal, had to pop out tie rod ends, ball joints, CV out of hub then drop strut, remove spacer & re-fitt strut, CV's were really hard to get back through hub & had to remove the brakes & disc to line it up & get it through each side...

just removed a 2 inch lift from my 86 brumby today, strut spacers on the front & 3x 2 inch lift blocks each side rear, 2 under fwd control arm ( think thats what its called) & one under the torsion bar mounts each side, no idea what its worth, i can get a pic up if you want ?

my brumby has rear disc setup from a L series Turbo, apparently the upgraded L series brakes bolt straight up, i can't confirm that though

i have air & rattle gun here, but still 2 heads are better than 1 & i am new to brumbys , i'm off up the sunny coast on friday & not back till monday, could come around next week if i don't get at it tomorrow ?

oh also i got told buy the guys i bought the ute from that it has 2 inch longer shocks in the rear & i may need to replace them with originals, i was going to try to just remove the blocks & leave these longer shocks in there then take it to a suspension shop i spoke to today & they can find some co...

thanks for the replys TOONGA & Tigger , my bar is 360mm long ( just ask my mrs....) but only 1/2 inch diameter ( just ask my mrs...) :rolleyes: i managed to get the bolt to move but it also moved the lift block as if the bolt is tight inside the block ( not sure what they're made out of ) so i stopp...
