In case you get the Christmas Lights; - Pull over safely (if somehow whilst driving). - Power off vehicle. - Exit Torque. - Vehicle ignition on (no need to start). - Start Torque. - Select fault codes from main Torque menu. - Tap to scan for faults. - Confirm only fault is CANBus error (otherwise t...

For example: I'd totally forgotten I must've created the PID subdirectory myself. Or perhaps adding them manually in the program (which you can do, it's in the preferences) created it...although now I come to think of it that may be the case because I think that's where I got the csv file structure...

Is that it or a file photo lifted from the internet ? Yes, this picture is of the actual car. I have more if anyone is interested in purchasing it. Very nice detail but out of my budget. She is an awesome car and one I didn't think I'd ever sell but times are changing and 95% of my cars are going t...

In that case I'm pretty sure you've 'hit it on the head' with your clean. Our car was (mostly) serviced by a Subaru dealer and 'decarbonised' for free at the 100000km service. So was Danielle's car for the first 125,000kms of it's life (so I'm asuming that they would have done the 100k service corr...

You could perhaps also check which firmware version your car is running. I think there was a firmware update that removed the issue, esp as it only seemed to occur in Oz to the early vehicles and seems to have vanished since. We had it once whilst the car was almost new, and under cruise control. T...

It may have just needed to confirm the licence first. My device only needs Bluetooth to connect to OBD-II dongle. If you have a WiFi dongle then you'll still need WiFi on Sorry might not have made myself clear with my typing. I meant for other new people wanting to install this setup in their car. ...

WARNING AGAINST INITIATING AN OBD-II CONNECTION WHILST TORQUE PRO IS ALREADY RUNNING [/u] (Note I have posted about this elsewhere) I forgot last night: there is a chance, under a specific situation, that Torque will initiate a miscommunication with the forester and disable most, if not all, featur...

I see this is an old post, so not sure if this helps or the original poster's issues were solved but my daughter's foz was shuddering at between 2200 and 2300 RPM but we could not find any issues with it. The vehicle would shudder until you lifted the foot off the accelerator. We where looking at ev...

Yes the photo of the head unit looks exactly similar... except for the Bluetooth symbol (I think) and the "CALL" text! I can't tell the unit model number due to the pixel reduction by the attached image. Ours had none of that nor any info in the manual about it (as far as I remember). Also remember...

Hi Patrick, Up and running :) many thanks. There was a few things that stumped me but we were able to work through them. I've setup one of my old mobile android phones for Danielle to use and leave in the car. I will list some of the issues I found. 1. You (anyone else wishing to install) need to ma...

Hi Patrick, Could you do me one more favour? Would you help me setup my tablet to look like your setup? Here's a photo of some of the diagnostics I have to go to to monitor the damn thing http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd490/pitrack_1/2010%20forester/DPF_regen_%20inj-time_inj-amt_zps9x8ccedh.jpg

I assume you've got a 2010 Forester Diesel base model similar to mine, with factory standard head unit. In that case the standard head unit doesn't do any bluetooth or Ipod linking. The only input is an aux input for a standard headphone output. This is located at the lower back of the centre cubby...

Much cheaper than a new DPF!!! Much and a lot simpler that I expected Sooner or later people were going to come up with a solution (sorry, bad pun) to the problem. After all it's just a matter of 'cleaning' so you just need the appropriate chemical /method to remove the 'gunk' and leave the substra...

Remember what I said about you shortly knowing more about the issue than me? :-) I think it was a very good idea. I also figured you'd know more than me...and you do... I'm definitely a fast learner and will question myself quite a lot but I feel I'm well behind the in the learning stage but happy ...

Good work Paul! Cheers and thanks for all your help along the way. A Clean Result I was going to suggest you give it a clean out yourself as you really have not much to lose if it's terminally (or close to it) clagged. As you seem to be associated with mechanical/engineering industries I was going ...

Hi Patrick (and any others that may be interested) We removed the DPF today and found the inside to be blacker than Kamahl and the cat was pretty badly blocked. We decided to do our own strip and clean (with what was sold to us as cleaning fluid) and then reassembled the unit, then refitted to the c...

Bummer, that! Yep.. just a little but nothing too big we can't handle (here's hoping) Here's a DPF cleaning service in Perth . I worry about a site that lists a "Subaru Outlander" however. Yeah thanks. I did speak to Jeannine (from MTM) yesterday and she has given me the run down on what the proced...

Hi Patrick, Just connect up your scanner and see if you can initiate a forced regen of some sort first. Well bad news :( According to the scan tool, we have 170% soot level (really amazed at how we can get over 100% of anything these days???) and 30% blockage. Which won't allow us to do a force rege...

Sorry... I was afraid you'd take it taht way... by "sigh" I meant "Sigh, another person caught in the DPF trap!" All good and yeah the dreaded DPF trap.. something I was not looking forward to :( P1469 is overfull DPF soot (>135%... don't drive!) and it's diesel specific. Once logged I believe it m...
