I hate to say it - but when I did this (fried the electrics - smoke, panic, smell, horror) I had to remove the dash and unwrap the loom of all its tape until I found some melted wires, took a long time but simple to fix once found and thankfully no ECU damage. Dont give up - it is quite possable tha...

Thanks for the comments guys - but I have a tendancy to be a bit untidy - lol I need to stay in the swept lines more rather than trying to make my own. The car is HEAPS better on gravel than last year, amazing the differance removing the rear sway bar and lowering the rear a bit has made. Also runni...

Hell Yeah!! you 'LOOK" the fastest by far! howd you go? lol - not sure about that. 26 entries, I came 4th overall behind a V7 STi, A Evo 10 and an Evo 5. But I was 1st in class (Pre93 4WD), 5 in my class, me, a Legacy, 2 Mitsi VR4's and a Mazda Familia 323 4WD My best result to date - so I was stok...

Good advise so far Id say. Get it tidy enough to be rego'd, make sure the shell is sufficently rust/major bend/damage free to warrent spending the time on. OB's comment is bang on - you will be surprised how many little things will need modding and you don't want to cut/scratch/grind/weld your painw...

Sounding and looking really good Andrew - I miss my old Gen1 GX sometimes.....
Did you know what sort of "stutter" were you getting before the coil conversion? Det, faulty coil pack, etc?

Any cage or roll protection has several basic parts, they are all there for a good reasons so I would not suggest shortcuts. 1) Main hoop - normally just behind front seats running up near b-pillars and across roofline - plates on the bottom of the legs. 2) Front legs - run from main hoop bends forw...

I use late 80's Datsun Ute r-rods, they have the same angle on the flat bit that attaches to the LCA. Ther are two types, one is about 5cm longer than L series rod the other is more like 10-15cm longer. Need to drill out one LCA bolt hole and drill a new one as well. Also need to shorten (maybe not ...

Cool.. have you got a incar video camera? some incar footage would be awesome  Kindof - I have a little Olympus sports camera, 7.1 MP. I have this mounted between the head rests. Does a good enough job other than the sound... I might just have to make the car louder so you can hear it bett...

Cheers guys - The car is turning out to be a lot of fun and getting better each event as I tune/change the suspension setup - I have now got good progressive sliding in the rear and still have fantastic turn in. While the car will never be a world beater it is proving to be compeditive and came ahea...

Had a tarmac bent sprint today - 2.3km down a fast road, round a cone ant the end then back again.
Bloody quick - well, for me anyway! The car felt great, best yet on tarseal which is great for the confidence.

1) Was freshly rebuilt so rings and valve do seal properly . 2) Heads ported but there are limitations without welding the castings . 3) Cams are later MPFI NA ones , a little more duration and overlap . 4) Inlet is a Vortex spider that was smoothed up through its runners . 5) Header is a stainless ...

In basic terms to improve your "pump" you want to get the air in and out with least restriction and distubance - period If you are not changing or modifying heads/internals/turbos/injectors/computers etc then at best you will gain say 10% power - not huge or worth disecting to the last detail. The t...

Years ago I was concidering a K&N panel filter for my 91 2.2L GX as i was interested in any power gains from a free flowing filter. I reasoned that no filter at all would have to be less restrictive than even the best filter so I did some tests. I left the car std and did some acceleation tests, 2nd...

I'd like to know how much money went into it. Or if I was backyard boost? It didn't look back yard to me when i was looking under the bonnet, and running a Link computer it will need to have solanoid controled boost which i would suspect was robbed from a EJ20T setup. Also runs on AvGas (100) so in...
