You could have later model Forester internals in you L series gearbox, I have heard of this being done but dont know the details. Five stud conversion is covered widely on this forum, just do a search. I have just done the conversion on my RX Rally car and used custom 40mm Bilstein front struts and ...

This is the IC I am using, it is an after market front mount designed for a VR4 or Skyline http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/ToyRX/Rally%20Car%20Build/ICtop.jpg I have made an ali heat shield under the bottom of it to help reduce the heat soak from the engine http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y16...

Well it has been nearly two months since my last post in this thread, sorry for the delay but all my spare time has been thrown into the car (among other things!) and I have only now found some time to update. So.... I was concerned about the small frontal area of the car and cooling for the rad so ...

What Was It??? Blatent stupidity........ would you believe that the ignitor input and AFM are exactly the same 5 pin plug, and even harder to believe, if you plug them in the wrong way round the engine won't start!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! This is probably only a potential issue on conversions where the tw...

The floating part of the calipers from mid 80's Honda Accords (maybe preludes??) do fit the L series rear, this is how my old rally car acieved a rear handbrake. In fact I have the conversion setup sitting on the bench at home, this setup used the honda cables and handbrake as well but you could eas...

You cant get to the captive nuts unless you cut a hole on the arch in the boot, it is double skinned and the captive nuts are in the middle. I discovered this while i was musing the idea of a rear strut brace. Dirt and crap can still get in through several holes though, your best bet may be to remov...

In reality guys use almost anything for rally mud flap material, but you are probably refering to the urethane sheeting about 2mm thick, come in all sorts of pretty colours but is not cheap, about $150-200/m2. Cheaper options are often to brittle and end up breaking. Almost any good plastic and rubb...

Blipping the throttle on downchange achieves two main advantages that I am aware of. 1) Saves the gear, particuarly for high rev change downs. Most people dont realise it but typical Subi syncro failure is due to the loading applied during these high rev change downs, not the fast upchanges. Secound...

Grumpy - either a referance to the better half or a misbehaving EJ Happy - the result of the EJ when its...

Holy crap thats a mess! Mate - sometimes someone elses half assed efforts take more time to fix than starting from scratch. I just hope you got some good bits in there and it is only they way they have been "cobbled" together that is dodgy as all hell. If you have a good engine/trans/rollcage/suspen...
