FS : WA Genuine RS Liberty wagon

Don't want to but looks like I have to sell :( Genuine AUDM 1993 Gen 1 Series 2 RS Liberty wagon in 222 Dark Grey Metallic (Charcoal) 296,000kms - engine has usual tappet noise as it is still running RS heads. Doesn't blow smoke or use oil though. Just had engine oil change and timing belt done. 4.4...

FS : WA RS Liberty box and diff, 18" rims, etc

Just trying to clear out some excess bits : RS Gearbox and matching 3.54 VLSD rear diff. Came out of my RS with just under 300,000kms but it shifted smoothly with no synchro problems. Diff has been dissasembled and early WRX VLSD centre inserted. Diff has not been put back together - all bolts are j...

Yeah I've got KBS AquaKlean and RustBuster (or whatever they call it) - its just for inside my chassis rails though. I haven't used it yet so I can't comment on it - though they do say one of them (can't remember which) leaves a zinc phosphate coating which is exactly what you want to prevent rust a...

Yeah etch primer is not necessary - it too uses phosphoric acid and can ruin the paint.

2 Pak epoxy primer over bare untreated metal is the way to go.

If you can mechanically clean the rust then that is the best option. Primers stick best to nice scuffed bare metal. The only time I would use rust converters is in spots you can't get in to clean with a wire brush etc. Which there should'nt be too many of those spots on a car where you want nice shi...

Yeah after all that i believe the fuel consumption is pretty much the same - will come down to driving style and type of roads/traffic.

A Forester will use slightly more fuel as its a little heavier & higher. Really ? Doubt that the Forester being based on an Impreza is heavier than an Outback - Outback is much bigger therefore heavier I would have thought. And didn't think the Forester would be any higher in standard form ? Must a...

Oops yep its a Viscous coupling :( Quote from MRT website : According to MRT rally ace Brett Middleton, the 20kg/m VC makes a major difference to the WRX's on-road performance. However, note that moving to the 20kg/m VC without any other swaybar or suspension mods will cause the car to "understeer l...

I believe one of them uses a startling amount of fuel. haha both of them !! AWD system is the culprit for excessive fuel use in all Subies. Although being slightly lighter and smaller the Forester should use less than an Outback. I get about 8km/l from my 1999 model Outback around town and 10km/l o...

Suits all Liberty / Impreza 5speed boxes. Its a clutch pack LSD with 20kg of clamping force which means it doesnt slip except under extreme load differences between front and rear wheels. Under normal driving it is basically a locked centre.

Help needed in Lidcombe / Villawood area

Hi Guys - looking at a set of rims and tyres on Gumtree in Lidcombe. Advertiser says 70% tread but doesn't know how to measure the actual tread depth. Is there anyone near the area who could go and check them oout for me and maybe drop them to freight depot in Villawood if they are any good ? Cheers...
