The one I found I'm pretty sure is a guy named dave in northern nsw who I actually bought my brumby off a bit over a year ago.
Wasn't aware he'd found his way to this forum though?

Thanks Brumbyrunner, that's what I wanted to hear. ;)
There's one on ebay at $50 at the moment, so if it doesn't go too much higher i'll take it.

electronic distributor upgrade?

Hey, Just wondering if an electronic distributor is a worthwhile upgrade for a brumby? I believe the stock ones are points based and I'm pretty sure I've read posts on here about it being a decent upgrade. Does anything need to be modified to put one in or is it just a straight replacement? Cheers, ...

Here's a couple of pictures of my winch. The brand name was come-a-long or something like that, not a big brand but it seems to be pretty solid and it works so for $60 i'm happy. Bought a right angle hose fitting and some hose today but couldn't find the diff breather... I'm guessing it must be hidi...

Well I've just about finished putting the driver's seat in. It was a lot easier than i was imagining. Just took the whole rails off the old seat, drilled a few new holes and bolted them to the new seat. So one side lined up with the holes in the car, now i just have to drill and tap some holes for t...

Yeah good Matt, I'm doing a couple of things to the ute that I've been meaning to do for ages. Put some spotties on last weekend, put a tonneau cover on today and I'm almost finished putting a new seat in out of a '96 liberty. Got my hand winch during the week that I scored off ebay for $60. :) Also...

'96 liberty seats in brumby?

Can anyone tell me if the front seats out of a '96 liberty wagon would fit in a brumby without any serious welding? I don't mind grinding or drilling new holes but I'm no welder. Just found some really nice ones at the wreckers this arvo, thought I'd see if anyone knows before i go ripping them out....

I googled rising sun and all I could find was a honda service/spare parts company, is that what you're talking about?

Thanks again matt and everyone else. I had no idea diffs needed to breath. :p I thought july/august was meant to be around the dryest time of year up there? Guess it rains whenever it wants up there though doesn't it. Got some prices on new shocks and springs today, tell me what you think... pedders...

Jack, yeah it's still the EA81. just about everything's still stock for that matter. Matt, great pictures mate, I'm looking forward to it even more now. :) What do you mean with the rear diff breather though? Don't quite follow what you've said there. And do you mean replace the standard air filter ...

Thanks for the feedback everyone, my confidence in old subies is back up to normal after being destroyed by a couple of big 4wd owners. I've never driven at speed with the tyres let down, but I know the last time I was 4wding at springfield we let them down and it made a huge difference with tractio...

new suspension for the brumby

Lookin at getting new springs and shocks for my brumby, just had a couple of questions. Do torsion bars lose springiness like coils do? I imagine they do, so then do you get a new one or can you tighten them or something? What brands do you recommend for shocks? I've looked up monroe, bilstein and k...

Brumby's trip to the cape... possible or not?

Hey guys, this is kinda similar to what that person in the last thread was asking about taking an outback across the australian outback roads. I'm planning a trip up to north queensland in a month and a half and am wondering how far I'll be able to get with my 2" lifted brumby... I'm going to try to...

Yeah that's what I did after some people on here suggested that the other day, but it's easier said than done in my opinion. plus tightening the bolts through the starter motor hole takes a lot longer than if you could do them with the gearbox still off. Sure it's another way of doing it, but I'll d...

yeah i agree, that looks like a pretty good idea. i was sorta thinking one of those tube subs might squeeze in up underneath the glovebox though? maybe if you took that shelf under the glovebox out, but I haven't taken any measurements or anything. Might stick out too far and look weird. I don't kno...

Ended up taking the gearbox back off, check the clutch plate splines and everything was all good. So I spent the rest of the day putting the damn thing back on. (jeeez i reckon it woulda been a whole lot easier with a clutch allignment tool) With the box back on everything seemed to be working, driv...

Urgent clutch help needed

Hey guys, I'm half way through replacing my clutch. (first one i've ever done) So I've got the freshly machined flywheel, clutch plate and pressure plate on the engine, all the bolts nicely torqued up(diagonally of course), and the gearbox slotted back into position. (not bolted up yet, but firm up ...

I like the idea of the bazooka tube. haven't actually heard one in action, but i was pretty sure you could get something like that. Haven't heard of a slimline sub though? usually the size of the sub is affected by the volume the box needs to be isn't it? Just wondering, do all subs need another amp...
