Not that early. It looks to me like an old 1400 GSR Coupe.
Tyre definitely hits a Laser or Meteor
Anyone care to guess where it is, keeping in mind they are driving/parking on the left. Rules out USA.

Is that a VL Commodore in front of the Marina (I think its a Marina - the red thing?)
I am going with Malaysia (educated guess!).

I am going with Meteor on this one - though they do look damn similar from this angle. I can't see a fuel cap on the right side and the rear quarter window looks too "square" for an L.
