Unrestricted speed zone?? You don't mean one of those signs that has the last speed limit with a line through it do you? Cos you know those mean state limit which even in NT is still only 130. SA is 110 and I believe everywhere else is 110 also.

I've always known these to mean unrestricted speed limit. Learnt this as a child growing up in the NT. I guess this has stuck since we don't have any of these signs in victoria. If we see a black sign with the last posted speed with "end" written at the bottom it means 80k's advised but your allowed to go upto 100km/h...Whoops again.
