Looks like a great trip had by all, I noticed only one of the cars had what looked like road tyres, was there much difference in the sand, I know I had no problems with my Bridgies up at Lancelin in the Liberty even on 38lb but I've just bought a set of 235/45/17's which are going on Fozza alloys which will be on my WRX hatch offroader once I get my arse into gear & finish it.
Also do you use low range much in the dunes? I rarely did in my Landcruiser but that thing would chug along all day at 1,000rpm

tred isnt a problem for the beach. just let em down if ya want to be safe.
main reason we run propper 4x4 tred is the thicker side walls and also the 'floatation' of them. plus they work well on other terrane ;)

as for low range i guess ill answer that one. - it depends on the engine but mostly yes low range is used often in the dunes as it is usually quite boggy sand and low range is the best gearing for that terrain. but if its harder sand most get away with just 4wd high.
