2002 Liberty RX

Hi,

I am looking at buying a 2002 Liberty RX that has done 59,000 K's. I am not sure if it has had the timing belt changed. I know they are meant to be done every 100,000 k's or 5 years. Now the car is 5 years old, If it hasn't been done would it be safe to wait another 6 months before getting it changed ?
