I towed one of my RX-7's ontop of a car trailer about 40kms down the freeway once using my old L series wagon (EA82 carby). The car trailer I was using weighs about 1 tonne unladen and an RX-7 is about 1.1. In hindsight was fairly dangerous but at least it was low speed heh, bout 60 or 70km/h, the old wagon was struggling abit!

Maybe some states have their own customized amendments, but according to the National road rules towing with tow ropes is not illegal. One would assume this is why tow ropes are sold virtually everywhere.

yer I'd say probably for damaged/unlicenced cars it would be illegal for sure. heh, technically a car who's engine doesn't run would be unroadworthy!

while we're at it-
I know it's not a cruiser, but the wagon cruised 50k's back down the highway without braking a sweat.

Hope the image works, I'm a bit of a novice at this
