how to split ea81 crankcase

Post by hack92 » Tue Dec 23, 2008 8:50 pm

Need to rebuild my brumby engine and was wondering if there is a hidden bolt/bolts somewhere in crankcase. First time working on subaru engine.

General consensus seems to indicate they are difficult to find, I'd say keep looking :)

I got you pm but my email are down i will try and send it later and also some pics of the difficult to get bolts (if they didn't get lost when my computer crashed). I have split a couple of EA81 blocks now i know exactly where the bolts and nuts are.

Email Sent inlcuding some pics of my engine split put not the ones i was after. Just be carefull of the Crank Bearing they are very painfully to get back together when you put the 2 halfs together. (Also triple check the small end bearings on the conrods) I smashed a piston when one wasn't done right. Have a Merry Xmas
