YEah nice looking engine and its completely different.. At first I thought it would've been triple turbo but nah... I knew it wouldnt be diesel because ive already seen the diesel engine and it doesnt have that thing on exhaust.

Interesting that it's not twin scroll , would be very easy with a suitable turbine housing to make it TS .
One engineering prob to solve with a low mounted turbocharger is it's oil return to the sump as oil won't gravity feed sideways or uphill , frothy oil foam ex turbo anyway .

One thing that's always been an issue for Subaru flat engines , turbo anyway , was the unequal length header pipes - and the dodgy method of only having one pipe from each heads pair of exhaust ports .
Aside from better developed combustion chambers and porting this aspect ain't a lot better than an EA82T - granted the 82T's header junctions are a lot worse .
What they got was the wrong pairing of cylinders given their firing order .
When you do it like that exhaust gas scavenging isn't real good and to a degree performance and fuel consumption will suffer .
Subaru's never seem to have been class winners when it comes to fuel consumption and I'd say Fuji can't afford to ignore this any longer .
To get the exhausts engine pipes close to the same length I suppose the turbo had to go forward because it'd be too low under and behind the engine and nowhere to put it above . Going forward and low is all you can really do on a flat four to make the packaging work .

I guess the rub is that being where it is will be an issue if you hit something hard enough because it may well spear it back into the sump , along with that front mount looking thing .

Cheers A .
