Hes on his way!

Post by carlie400 » Tue Jul 21, 2009 3:30 pm

Hi All,

Gee the site has changed since I was last on. Lookin good!!

Anyway, for those of you following subyroo's progress it stands now as follows.

I have decided to have him towed to the wonderful man John down at volksbaru in doncaster for him to replace the motor which I have had him rebuilding for the last few months now. As usual with anything I attempt, there were quite a few dramas, but mostly sorted now.
I should have him back within the month I would say !! Then I can get onto the air con issue, and finally come out 4wd'ing with you guys!!!!

Anyone know who does seats for my little man ? Or should I just go to a wrecker. Im not sure if his seats are orig, but they do not have covers, however the upholstery on them looks like covers :) Anyway !!

Hi to all, sorry I havnt been around much, just thought I would give you a progress update !!

A good upgrade is to put seats from an L series touring wagon in. I know they bolt straight into an EA81 Brumby so good chance they'll go into yours too.
Otherwise if you know somebody who can weld it's only a fairly minor mod to do on WRX or Liberty seats and they can go in too.

Otherwise check in the yellowpages for automotive re-trimmers, most of them can completely re-upholster car seats.

Good news to hear you'll get him back soon!

Good to hear he'll be on his way Carlie! I hope he'll do everything you want him to do. I probabily won't be 4wd'n until I get the EJ fitted - I guess we'll be close to par with our subi's.

I'm looking forward to meeting you and your subi beast sometime.

Cheers

If you want to retrim the seats, try Regal Auto Trimmers in the Wandin area. I've used Supertrim in Nunawading and they were pretty good too.

I would personally suggest putting in later-model seats (will be much cheaper) or try the gen 1 wagon at Pick-a-Part and see what the condition of those seats are in.
