We did not get pre 85 4WD turbo subaru in Australia. However there are those out there who have fitted the rear disc set ups from L Series RX and others have worked out how to fit the Vortex rear disc set ups. Get familiar with the search facility watching the bit search last two years or further, you'll find heaps fer sure.

If you have a WRX engine in a brumby, i seriously recommend the 'Crossbred Brake Kit'

It costs a little more, the stopping power is much worth it. Plus you will be able to fit later 5 stud rims from impreza's and libertys
Current rides: 2016 Mitsubishi Triton GLS & 2004 Forester X
Ongoing Project/Toy: 1987 RX Turbo EA82T, Speeduino ECU, Coil-pack ignition, 440cc Injectors, KONI adjustale front struts, Hybrid L Series/ Liberty AWD 5sp
Past rides: 92 L series turbo converted wagon, 83 Leone GL Sedan, 2004 Liberty GT Sedan & 2001 Outback

Any year "L series" 4x4 Subaru disc brake rear end hubs will fit. Either RX Leone Turbo or Vortex (Vortex are identical).
Some 2wd Vortex's and L sedans also have rear discs, however these are NOT suitable (unless you want to run front wheel drive only heh).

I agree that it's a good idea getting the Crossbred kit if you can afford it, although I ran standard RX turbo brakes in my sedan with EJ20turbo without any real issues, but I'm no boy-racer these days. Just make sure you adjust your driving habits away from a "late braking style"....or it will most likely end up being a "too late" braking style!

First in gets 'em, yes, they are 4wd.

Hubs, Rotors, Studs, Calipers, Lines, Backing plates, NO PADS

Gotta be worth $350, wreckers want 5...
