Hi all,
I'm looking at buying a 93 Liberty however I noticed a bit of a ticking noise and some pulley noise as the motor warmed up. The ticking got more noticeable as the motor was lightly revved. Also whilst it was cold I noticed that if the clutch was pressed the revvs would drop from about 1200 to 900. If the accelerator was touched it would jump up to about 1600 and hover there for a brief moment before dropping back to 1200.
The ticking went away as the motor warmed up. The oil appeared to be good and the car has done surprisingly low kilometres (not far over 110k).
Is whats described above normal for a cold EJ motor with low K's?
Is there anything in particular to look for aside from the standard stuff when looking at a Subaru with an EJ motor in it?
Also what would one expect to pay for a 93 liberty in very good condition?
Thanks.
