Thats a shame dude,... never good to see a rare car written off. Good thing you are ok

I too would like to see many photos of how the front end handled the impact.

Glad you are ok cars are replaceable you aren't and if I had the money Id be going to Maddinton myself but I think wifey would kill me if I brought another car home

and sadly as cruel as it sounds don't swerve when you are going to run into a kangaroo try to hit it radiator on or with a headlight, my uncle was a farmer for years and this is advice from him.

he has lost many friends over the years to the sudden swerve followed by a trip off the road or a roll over

to animal lovers out there sorry not trying to be cruel I live in the country and I hear about people being seriously hurt or killed because they swerve

yeah thast true and i goes to everyone on here who might do the same.
absolutly anywhere no matter what the animal dead or alive run over it. ive seen it a lot of times when people will swerve for a dead cat or such out of respect. quite a few of them will then either hit the dirt and round they go or else move into somone elses lane not good.

so whats the go with the car??

Man, I just about hit a roo a couple of weeks ago, too! I swerved, because I saw it at the last second (My headlights aren't the best) and in that instant I thought "Godsdamnit, I just had the front of this thing fixed!" Luckily I was only going 80, and when I swerved I didn't go off the sealed stuff. Got to love AWD, though! The outback stuck to the road like it was on rails.

Sorry to hear about your Vortex, though. It's a damn shame when rare cars leave this world for the next. And yours was a good one, too!

Hey Thalass - I didn't know we had let any Roo's loose in the "top paddock" or have you migrated "downunder"? ................

Nah that'll buff out.

That doesnt look all that serious, i was expecting much worse.

A good panel beater will be able to straighten out the subframe and fix er up good

Won't scrap it. Worth to much to me.
I'll see if i can get it as a repairable write off, i'd rather the cash and repair it with that later and get another car.

Mate, From what I looked at the photos, it isnt "bad" enough to "write it off" but they will write it off because of the market value of the car unless you've "agreed value" with insurance company, its something like 74% or more then they'll write it off.
Otherwise if I were you, take the car to experienced panel beater and pay them cash to straighten it out (or half cut from other vortex). They'll do it and also if you have parts to supply they'll be happy.

Another thing, have a serious think about it, you have plenty of time to consider to solve it out of what you want, insurance company will push you but take your time mate - in that way you have made best choice.

Cheers
