BRAND SPANKERS new Forester crunching when selecting reverse. How the Fuji does this get past the dealer delivery inspection?

Maybe the clip fell off the thrust bearing (inexcusable i know) but surely it would have been in reverse a few times between the factory exit and when this girl had trouble selecting reverse

maybe, just maybe, unfortunate looking Dad trying to replicate the noise over did things. Heard it for myself today. It is not a CRUNCH that I heard, more a resounding CLICK or CLUNK as it gets into reverse, and owner says the selector sticks a bit sometimes in or out of reverse gear. I should stick her in my 4 speed Brumby and let her decide which is better :) . New car needs breaking in I'd say now. Can't wait to see her face after the new car feeling wears off and she goes off road. Emotional things these girls.....

Not to get off track, but had to do that last weekend. Had my little lady in my rx pulling my truck out from under the chainfall while I held the engine clear of the core support ( low trussed carport) and she kept killing it. I hop in ,put it in low range thinking the trucks e-brakes are draggin and bout pulled it into me:)
She said oh, I had my foot on the brake too.
