How deep can you go? (river crossing)

G'day, just wondering deep you fellas have taken your L series?

The other night after fishing i took my L wagon through the river with the water half way up the windscrean the car was fine comming out of it then for about 2mins after crossing. She just started coughing its guts out as the dizzy had condensation on the roof of the cup, a quick whipe out with a rag and shit was fine apart from the crazy backfiring on the way home

Was that washout/bow wave half way up the windscreen or was it the depth of the water? either way that's pretty impressive. I've had the engine completely submerged ( snorkel ) and when I got it out it was a bit coughy for a while as the electrics were a bit wet, but a couple minutes driving and it cleared up.

After that I got all new leads and plugs and siliconed them in place. When I go through water I usually spray all the obvious places with water dispersent ( both before and after ) to help out.

hey, It was the bow wave, but not moving the water would of been about up to the to the been lapping at the bottom of the window
