Brumby prices!

Post by tex » Thu Jul 29, 2010 5:23 pm

I am feeling guilty now as on the weekend I bargained the price of another targa top brumby down to $1500 and yet today at pickles I saw a standard one go for $800 with barely a straight panel on it! Red book values are all over the place and so are Ebay prices! just wondering what you guys reckon their worth!
87 targa brumby (Neglected),
92 targa brumby (weekend runabout),
97 Lifted Outback (Dailey drive),
05 outback safety (Too cheap to pass up),
90 model liberty (was to be scrapped instead sold to workmate)
+ others.

mine cost $ 3700 almost 2 years ago as market value stands you could shave at least $1500 off that......... but with the work thats gone into it I wouldn't part with under $6500 and I would still lose money

as you say Ive seen them from 800 dollars right up to 24000 dollars

how much are you prepared to pay for one :)

In my experience the more modified they are the harder they are to sell
that being said you just have to come across the right person and you can sell em anything. but if you spend big $$$ then don't expect to recoup that money.

Have a look on carpoint.com.au sometime. Basically they go from cheap as chips to the VERY expensive wrx converted ones, the most expensive of which is $24500! The Brumby/wrx ones seem to have undergone a massive price jump since I last looked a few months ago. I think the one that is 19k used to be 12k. Why are they so expensive all of a sudden? CUBS?
