Warm Up - 1992 Liberty GLX Manual Wgn AD

Just looking to 'warm up' my car. I have thought of a Turbo for the existing engine as it is good with only 140000 K's. Or should I look for a replacement engine? I want to fit a good exhaust system with a nice burble but not too loud.
The only other thing is wheels. I currently have the 'white' alloys that I optioned on the car when I bought it new in 1992. I belive the 15" Forester wheels will fit....any others?

I would appreciate any comments and examples of similar projects done by others.
