The legality doesn't bother me so much as the impracticality and the embarrassment.

It'd be 10 times worse than having underbody neons.

I dunno, underbody neons could be kinda cool for night fourby runs ;)

doors

The mod for the doors is straight forward and you can get the plans off the net .
You need to get some things made and the frame in some cases needs strenghting.
The thing to consider is weather the mod will suit the car it could look wierd and theres the risk that the entry and exit from the car could be comprimized if the door doesnt get to a realistic height from the door to the frame base.
Ihave heard that the standard price for this job is $1000 i dont know if this is shop price or if D.I.Y.
i think i would go for the neons.

the way i want to make them is that they open normally enough so you can get out and then they go up. i have been looking at the hinges on the net and some look dodgy but others have ball bearings and such in them but look simple enough to make. the beauty is you can hide them when you get out at the shops next to a cop car.

Maybe on a XT (Vortex) but on anyother subie?.. :?

If you think about it, this door design is much better then gullwing or normal because you dont have open the door outward. So you can park closer to things. But really it would only serve as looks... In which case Id say no. Because RICERing is just..... ___. If you get my meaning.

i'd only do it to a L series touring wagon only after i convert the engine to a suzuki 600cc two stroke, twin turbo that, with NAWZ, put in LED winshield washer nozzles, and stick on a bodykit, after i've raised it 12 inches.

only to impress the habibs at my local mcdonalds as i do happy laps.

I've seen 'em on a new Monaro and was impressed. Seen 'em being fitted to a Sillicar and was even more impressed with their design and apparent ease of fitment and adjustment. I wouldn't fit them to my own car as I reckon I'd clock meself on the bottom of the doors. Bad nuff already if door open and window up !!
