Subaru lift
i have a 91 subaru brumby, and i got given a 2 inch body lift to put in. I was wondering if anyone knew of a sheet of fitting instructions or something like that.
i could do it myslef without these instructions as i have a vague idea, but it would save so much time and hassle if i could find a diagram or some instructions.
if anyone could help that would be much appreciated.
Thanks, josh

G'day Josh,
Have a go at using the search function. This has been covered many times.
It's pretty simple though - work out where the parts go, get the subi sorted with chocks to secure it from moving, then using a couple of jacks install some jack stands on an area that's not going to be fitted with lift blocks - eg the floor section of the chassis rail.
Then use the jacks to hold the weight of the component that is going to be lowered for the lift blocks to fit in. Remove one bolt if there are several for that component, place in one of the lift bolts, remove the rest of the non-lift bolts and carefully lower the jacks and the given component.
Place in the lift blocks and the lift bolts, then do the same for the first lift bolt that was used to lower the suspension component.
Once you've got everything lowered make sure you tension everything as it should be. Then check it after a day or two then a week after again.
Other things to look out for are:
> Radiator hoses may need to be lengthened, including the heater hoses
> Speedo cable may need to be lengthened, at least watch it to make sure you're not snagging it on something as you lower the engine crossmember or the gearbox crossmember
> Brake hoses may need attention
> Exhaust may need some modifications or to be dropped then re-fitted after the lift is in
I think that's about it from the top of my head.
Cheers
Bennie

remember that this is a kit for an "L" series so it has a couple of differences.RSR 555 wrote:There's a good pic with some details (from TOONGA) on this page...
