silicone water hoses esp near turbo ?

Post by steptoe » Wed Jul 05, 2006 10:07 am

I have been thinking that when it comes to replace some of the water hoses, on the EA82T anyway, that when it comes to the turbo ones near excessive heat and those that require almost a week to get at , that it would be a good idea to use silicone hoses if available

your experienced comments appreciated ie best suppliers etc

The hose you are thinking about that goes under the turbo generally lasts for about 10years or so before it lets go so i dont know weather the extra cost would be worth it. When i have to raplace that one i invert the pipe fitting on the turbo that it comes off and run the hose over the top and infront of the compressor housing keeping it away from the heat

ah yes , was thinking redirection or even braided hoses with screw on fittings like on all Safari turbo kits . Was also thinking making some alloy heat shields. That's right , ten years out of an original with its heat shield tube is pretty good, thanks
