L Series into a Brumby?
L Series into a Brumby?
What can I put in a Brumby from a L Series?
I've read heaps about the box (tail shaft and pedal box included), but what else can be used? Without too much cutting and welding
FYI I'm not interested in putting the engine in

radiator, with some work - considered a downgrade from twin to single core
and allegedly the water pump bolts right up from EA82 to EA81 ? Or was that vice versa? to use L bottom rad hose.
radiator cap
fuses and relays, most light bulbs
seats with some cut weld
inlet man and carby
pedal rubbers
as yet cannot recall if the heater fan swaps over
carby fuel pump
not much more

Any rego on it so you can drive it about for a while ? You know, get to appreciate the L's for what they are. Bought one like that years ago, was a crime to part it out - but got a lot of use of its bits. The EA82 made a nice difference in the Brumby
If the rear diff is same ratio as Brumby you can also use that or its mounting rubbers anyway, CV protector flaps ....

Yeah the rear diffs are the same ratio. That's why you can swap the boxes.
We went over it today on the hoist. It's such a tidy car it'd be devastating to use it for spares.
No rust. Bit of surface rust at the only dent, size of a 20c coin.
The logical choice would be to keep the wagon and sell the Brumby. But my heart wants the Brumby lol.
If only I could easily put the dash, ac and elec mirrors in the Brumby.

The entire dash board as such will not fit in the brumby without some serious work. If you're talking about the instrument cluster I'm sure you'll be able to find a way to make it fit in the brumby's instrument cluster's position...
Must have found someone that either wants to do this body up or use it for parts to do up another one... Good that you sold it for more than you paid for it and were able to keep the bits you needed too!
Cheers

Good that it went to keeping another Subaru on the road rather than Sims metal and the crusher, Way too much good gear has been lost that way, witness how many classic Aussie mag Wheels have become poison cost wise because they melted them down for scrap, Price a set of Torana Globe Sprintmasters to see what I mean there.
