Small Carby Coolant hose.

Post by Gazza01 » Tue Mar 24, 2015 5:22 pm

I have noticed on my Brumby what appears to be a very small (about 3 to 5mm dia) curvy coolant hose in a very hard to get position at the front of the motor and going into the Carby. It is positioned at the bottom of the Carby and winds up behind the Alternator. Anyone out there got any info on this small hose which I take is a coolant hose.

The search function is your friend! ;)

This has been discussed before a few times. But FYI, it's a coolant hose that carries pre-heat coolant away from the carbie. This was to help cold engine running conditions and prevent the carbie icing up in colder climates. You can leave it or delete it, not much difference either way.
Will it ever end!?

Not a good idea to delete it as it helps bleed air out of the block, lets water bypass when the Thermostat is closed. Cold climate models had a Thermo Valve before the Tee piece into the heater hose.
