ea81 water in sump

hi im working on a brumby it has water in the oil in all about 12 litres it has new head gaskets and welch plugs done how else could the water be getting in and im not pouring it in the oil filler any ideas would be great or has any one else had this problem the radiator emptys over night even quicker if running

Sounds like an internal crack in either the block or one of the heads.

Did you do the head gaskets and welch plugs?

how common is a cracked block? or internal corrosion?

I'd be removing the rocker covers and making sure one of those new welch plugs are not leaking.

It sounds to me like one of those are leaking. That's what was wrong with my EA81 when I got it, I thought it was HGs until I removed the heads and found a welch plug floating around.

Another thought:

Inlet manifold gaskets are possibly leaking into the cylinder(s).

How many litres are you filling the radiator with after it's drained to it's lowest point? This might give us an idea of where the leak is if we can work out the water/coolant height in the radiator.
