Making new dash trims

Hi guys

Soon i'm going to be doing some research on how much it will cost to make the dash trim for the Vortex. If I can get it remade, how many people would interested in buying one and how much they are willing to spend so I can work out if its worth going down this track?

While I'm not directly interested, do you have pics you can post of the trims you're looking at having made up?

That might help spark people's interest.

JohnnyT if you can find someone to remake that trim I believe everyone in the world with a right hand drive vortex would be interested. If I still had mine I would be. I know when I got mine the trim was in one piece and on the drive home it fell apart.

Yer i'm taking to a few companies at the moment as I have to get someone to draw this up on 3D and also have it 3D scanned so just getting quotes so far. 1 company has quoted 300-400 just for the 3D scanning but printing shouldn't be too much, but it will be the total cost at the end that would be a problem, for example I don't think it would be cost effective if the first trim is going to cost me over $1000.00 to make (with all the pre-work). But I will be keeping everyone upto date with things as I go along.

On the plus side i'm pretty sure it can be mirrored so it can be made for the left hand side vortex's in the US.

Worst case we can always start up a go fund me account

Just a quick update on the trim

I have had one someone who does 3D CAD modeling to have a quick look at the trim and told me that it will need to be scanned with a 3D scanner. It something that can be made but when it comes to it being printed they may not be able to have the original factory finish and its more likely to be a flat surface finish. To me this won't be an issue but not sure how everyone would like to have everything to have the original look.

Let me know what you guys think if everyone who be okay with having a smooth finish opposed to the original factory finish
