Hi all you Brumby experts!...I have just a 6/86 build Brumby, and going over it to get it prepped for the road. After crawling underneath it, I noticed it doesnt have a cat.....
From what I have researched, it looks like 1986 was when cats were required....so my question is should I have them or not on this?...was this built before the transition to cats or has it been removed, and if so, I guess I will need to need to replace it for a RWC?

It should have a cat. Subaru had them before they were a legal requirement in Oz.
You might be able to use an L series Y pipe. If you have the little block spacers immediately off the head for the EGR gear the exhaust will hang lower which usually isn’t an issue.
All the best sorting this out.
Cheers
