Gey guys just a quick question.
Due to the guy i was planning to buy my car being an impatient so and so i now am looking for a new car. There is one i quite like its a 1990 touring wag and all seems well but it has quite high kms around 290,000 or something.
Is this a high number with these engines or are they fine as long as they have been serviced well. What should i be looking for at these kms that sholud be done or could be a problem.
Thanks
high klm's
290,000 kms is ok for the body but the engine will be getting a little bit tired by now. Good service history is important, but how the car has been driven is more important.
If you think you're getting a good deal look at things like head gaskets, timing belts and cooling system.

Monster Subaru sold to a good home!! Still a Subaru owner. Will try stay in the Ausubaru loop. Sorry

my car has done well over 300,000km now..runs smooth, still got abit of power(running big wheels)...
when i bought my car it had done 280,000km it had very bad lifter noises, the engine was running like absolute crap etc etc..i just got the oil pump replaced and i run some good quality oil etc etc...now it purrs like a kitten!...i think so long as theyve been looked after they should be ok...ea82 carby's are a strong engine...

bought my tourer with 320 000 on it has over 400 000 now.i wasted alot of money trying to get rid of the lifter tick .the motor was reliable, never broke down, and has been till the day i removd it and put in the ej22.look for rust around the windsceen or signs of overspray indicating repair.
