86 touring wagon

Hi,
Im looking at buying an 86 l series touring wagon. I've heard that the post 87 models are better in a few areas including rust proofing. Has anyone had any problems with pre 87 models? Or is that just a rumour?

Never had any issues with pre 87 models i own an 86 leone and have previously owned and 86 touring wagon. The only major difference is the instrument switches and the grill and indicator lights on the front. Myself i prefer the earlier setup
