Brumby litres/km?
Brumby litres/km?
Hi all,
I've just purchased a 91 Brumby and shes sweet.
The only problem is she seems to be sucking more fuel then i thought for a 1.8,and so was wondering if anyone could give me a comparison of what they get to a tank.
I'm getting strong petrol fumes which is why i thought i might shout out for comparisons or advice.
I'm averaging around 400kms to a tank,city driving.I think its a 45litre tank.Only ever got 42litres in.
Thanx in advance

Fuel stats
Since i put my lift in and big tyres gettin **** consumption round town.
With tools and canopy been gettin like 320ks to the tank and fillin up like 44 litres. Only had lift and tyres running properly for bout 6 weeks. When in fourby or on the highway i get way better fuel consumption bout 10.5-11l per 100 km. Used to get way better fuel consumption before that without lift and tyres usually used to get bout 375-400km round town.
Mind you fuel gauge is a little dodge but that is the go for me.
I'll keep a few more stats the next couple of weeks

My Brumby's engine is stock and when fitted with the OEM sized tyres it averages around 8.5 - 9.0 litres per 100km, depending on traffic conditions. I don't flog it though and usually just poke along the highway at 90 - 95km/hr.

dual carb EA81 used to get between 10 and 15 litres per 100km.
EJ22 swap gets between 7 and 12 litres per 100km.
When offroad I get around 18L/100km.
My driving varies, so thats the best I have got and the worst. Also I drive on 215/60R15's street rubber most of the time.
I would expect a standard good running Brumby to get 8 to 9L per 100km if driven friendly.
