Thanks for that Brett...Ive still got the 16" Forester rims with 205 tyres, but has great clearance even with the lower profile. they dont seem to float as well on the sand though so may change to 15" rims to get a higher profile tyre when these ones wear out.
Love the 2nd gen Lib its a big step up from the Brumby (not quite as fast though!)

These sumps (I can tell from the photo and its different to L series - Yes L series does bolt on Libertys) That sump is Liberty one, you can find one from wreckers off another Liberty - doesnt matter if its Gen 1 or 2 - both are same one - I do have one on mine as well and its Gen 2..

Raised springs is $118 front & $120 rear - they're kings raised springs.

Struts are varies everywhere, I bought mine from ebay - Gabriel's brand but they're KYB stumped.

I didn't put bigger tyres on yet but its something I am going to do down the truck once the tyres wears out, main reason I fitted outback struts bec my fiance's house has weird driveway and I always scrape the front of it, if you go teeny little too fast - oh you don't wanna know, and it pisses me off and raised doesnt cause the problem anymore and I've aways wanted raised Liberty/Subaru. I will be fitting kings raised very soon.

Cheers

That looks SWEET AS!!!!

I starting think about changing my mind abt buying an L Series. (And I just got my head around some of the stats on this model! GOSH!)

QUESTION.

What would be the sweetest Liberty Model/year/option level to buy for around 4-5 thousand?

How much are the Gen 2's atm?

A whole bunch of new questions and perplexedness!

Gen2 (depends where!) Ive seen them going for 3.5 grand with high kms - If it was me, I'd buy it as I would be prepared to rebuild it.

I bought mine with very good service history lady owner with books and sh it (receipts all unnecessary information etc etc) when I bought it was 235000kms for $7500 (wagon, roof ranks, mags, dual range) now 255,000kms - happy with it..

Soo.. for an GX starting from $3,500 right towards $14,000s for RX.... DO homework for it.

had a guy ask me about this today, and realised I never did put the parts list up.

  1. 2" Scorpion Lift Kit
  2. KYB Gen2 Outback Struts: 334166, 334167, 335020, 335021
  3. King Springs Gen2 Outback Standard Height: KFFS-25, KSRS-25
  4. Subaru Gen2 Outback Trailing Arm Mounts: 20520AC030 RHS, 20520AC040 LHS
  5. Subaru Gen1 Liberty Bash Plate: 44371AA000
  6. Early GT Forester 16" Roms +48 offset
  7. 215/65R16 Pirelli Scorpion STR Tyres
  8. Icom IC400PRO UHF
  9. RFI CD63-71-73 Stainless Whip Antenna on GME Z bracket
The strut tops and dust covers were used off the original suspension that came out of the car. I replaced the bump stops with new aftermarket ones.

The exhaust had to be modified slightly at the rear to clear the rear crossmember sitting 40mm lower.

The car apparently turned a few heads with the mechanics down south who don't see a lot of lifted subarus. They had a lot of good things to say about it which was nice ;)

To get positive camber you need to install 1" block on the top of the diff cradle - I am about to do that on mine over Christmas. (NB - if you using outback struts & standard springs then its 1", if its outback & raised springs then you're better off using 2" lift block.)

christian already has a body lift AP.

You have rear camber issues because you have too much strut lift for the amount of offset in your rear lift tops. To get back to neutral rear camber you can

1. less lift in the rear struts. change tops and / or springs
2. more offset in your rear tops. but you can only go so far before you hit the inside of the wheel well. big hammer surgery helps...
3. get camber pins for your struts. but then you have problems with your tyres fouling the strut leg

Have you had a proper rear end alignment done? They should be able to get it within about 0.5deg of neutral with most kits.

Yes had an alignment done soon after the install, one side is worse than the other,,maybe the bushes are gone too, thinking about rose jointing the rear end.

if one side is worse than the other then your rear crossmember is not centered in the car.

A good alignment shop will loosen the crossmember bolts and push it back into place to get the alignment as close to even as they can
