There are a bunch of WRX converted Brumby owners on here including me, but unless you already have a ute with a lot of time into it, buy one thats already converted. It'll save time and money and hassel.

I wonder how they achieve no vibrations....i can't see any rubber mountings in that photo, the diff is solid mounted to the body of the car. Unless the bolts on the actual diff have rubber surrounds...can't quite see.

thanks for the info.
A good mate of mine wants to know if you can run the wrx drivetrain with an ej20 or ej25. He was planning on converting a brumby with this configuration for his son as he has just started driving. He wont be aloud to drive a turbo so thats why he wanted to know if this would work because later down the track he will most likely put the wrx engine in.
thanks

yeah you can - it all bolts up.

will be an expensive way to do it though as you will have to source box and engine seperately

Oh yeah.. Of cause, why bother any other way. Its so much easier in imaginary land.

I'd love to see some proof of an EJ DOCH in a Brumby that is street legal in any state. Modifying the crumple zone on a car to my knowledge is not something you can do legally. But who knows, prove me wrong.

If I were to do it, I'd just make it look good and never look back.

Well that kinda sucks...though if you could get an engineers certificate that your work improves the efficiency of the crumple zone you could probably get around it. The logic from the government would be that if you are as safe or safer than you were previously it means in an accident you are better off physically and it costs them less

The logical option would be to bring in a damaged Baja from the US and cut&shut the rear onto a local delivery. You already get all the modern good stuff (5 stud, and a chassis that is designed to take the extra power), and WRX bits are drop-in.

I didn't know the brumby, MY or L series had crumple zones... Thought the Liberty was the first in the subi family to have crumple zone...

News to me.
