Ok had a longer thought about this , it would be max speed in each gear.

On the speedo i assume?

Basically it is the maximum speed to do in each gear, as to not over-rev the engine. By the looks at it, if you are doing 40 in 1st, 80 in 2nd and 110 in 3rd, it means you are doing around 5200rpm and its time to change gears.

In the manual it is redline for each gear, it's about 5,000 rpm.

Reving to 5000rpm in your Brumbies EA81 wont hurt anything cos peak power occurs somewhere between 4800 and 5200rpm.

But there is no point taking it past this point (around 5k) as you have passed the point of peak power and you are better off changing gear to put you back into the torque curve.

Yeah, it's the poor man's shift light. And don't worry your EA81 will easily rev to those figures and beyond.

Got that right Suparoo. Every MY i've seen short of the digi dash units have these. Going for the markers is quite a noisy affair that I wouldn't want to do very often if at all!

Cheers
