Fair enough,
I've owned 2 Liberties, first one was Rallye sedan - just same what you're looking at, it has body kit, fog lights (if you have a sedan it'll have rear spoiler) also mags. (now have SkiFX wagon) Its powered by 2.2 litre EJ22, power is something like 98kw, I forget what nm of torque, fuel - you'll be getting around 550-650kms to a tank if you're careful..
EJ22s are most solid engines and they do not give any troubles unless you choose to abuse it, otherwise the Subaru will give it back badluck to you. Parts - they're reasonable if you do homework.
Make sure it has good service history then you know it has been well serviced specially timing belt. I know Subaru is more expensive than ford or holden, but they're more reliable if you look after it.
Cheers

Yeah... my Gen 2 wagon is now 276,000kms and does not burn or use oil/drip oil at all, very strong engine. It is known that well look aftered Subaru can last upto 500,000kms or more or around that.
