no kidding lols, maybe its best to simply say the following
a bonnet scoop could have many of the effects that have been stated previously
however all manufactures that use them do extensive wind tunnel testing and CFD testing.
chances are slapping any bonnet scoop on any car will have no effect on performance in any way.
you should really be asking about looks not performance

this A9X that we were looking after had 4 webbers(? twin port carbies) on a custom manifold. the tray way 2 peices of 1mm aluminum with 5 mm of high density, heat proof foam in between. The bonnet was modified to seal to the tray, only way of air getting to the trumpets was through the vent, seems like a lot of work right??
oh yeah but it helped with getting colder air to the engiine and performance was the game

speed is just a question of money
how fast do you want to go?

Yes I had 45 DCOE Webers on my Minis and the Datsun motor before it went EFI and then twin cam EFI turbo .

Gee the last time I saw four Webers on a V8 it had a custom made valley/inlet manifold and I think the manifold runners crossed between each other .
I guess the A9X's were Group C so they didn't have to use that specially dialed in Rochester Quadrajet .

A .

im no sure what class it ran in i think it was somthing pre 1970 over 1200cc or somthing not too sure.
custom manifold that was all one peice that dad made (against the rules to have multiple part manifold apparently) runner length was optimised and then comprimised due to the height of the bonnet

I had a scoop on my M.Y. wagon. It was functional. Had a catchment area under the bonnet and piped into the air filter. It made it forced air induction , to a point, that is. It didn't make any real difference to the engine . The scoop was a early wrx one. If a police officer sat in the drivers seat, he would have booked me for not being able to see the opposite corner of the bonnet. So if you decide to put one on, it would have to be some thing like a RS liberty scoop. A low profile one. It isn't worth being booked , just to have a scoop on the car.

At the last count 4 Minis
(78 LS1275 , 71 Clubman GT , 68 badly cut shut CooperS , 71 Clubman GT)
2 Series 1 Bluebird TRXs
84 DR30RS Skyline
84 CB50 Charade
96 R33 GTS25T Skyline 2 Door
86 Subaru RX Turbo
99 Lancer evolution 6 GSR

So eleven cars between 1985 and now and the next to go will be the RX Turbo . There is talk of a reasonably clean smiley faced G200 1.5 Charade
for the lass to learn to drive in , manual absolutely of course . No Nancy bilge pumps in our fleet .

No scoop either though nothings out of the question when master gets his hands on a car ...
