Andrew tells me that the Vortex has got position #9 on the lemon list, but fail to even find a Subie on the google search of lemons

A "lemon" to me would be a car that was continually breaking down and being unreliable?? I don't recall the Vortex or the similar model L.Series (same running gear) ever having such reports?? If it is because it's designing/style was a little out there then you would have to say the new Liberty has the same effect. I personnally really like both styles but have heard many comments about how ugly Subaru cars are... I'm sure 50% of them are just trying to wind me up but the other 50% must see something I don't.

When I get my A into G and get it finished I believe there will be no issues with getting full rego on the Murtaya. When we applied to the DOT to start the build they sent me all the paperwork and once filled in and submitted, they gave us permission to construct and then once finish it will need a letter by a approved lic'd mechanical engineer. Lucky for us my very good friend (a kitcar nut) is on that list. My engineering friend has a 911 kitcar with a EJ Subie engine in it. His kitcar is not upto the standards of the Murtaya so when he first saw the Murtaya, he was convinced that it will fly through required paperwork/approval. Unfortunately with me breaking my foot in Nov 09 and project L.Offroader build (along with all the other work at the shop) I have very little time to work on the Murtaya. I'm planning to continue with the build once the L and its trailer are built.

Thanks for your interest and I will post up the updates once I get started again.

Cheers,
Paul

So...which Murtaya are you gonna submit for the 'crash-into-a-brick-wall test?

None... not required. A rigidity test is all that is required (other than the ADR stuff) and the Engineers Report because the hard yards have been done in the UK.
