Carb and distributor
Hi Ben, this will work on any SOHC EJ motor.
I have heard of it done to a DOHC one in a jetboat although it required serious machining work.
Budgetry restraints have ruled out a side draught carbie for my boat and as I have a spare Weber down draught that will be going on.
They came out on ford motors up to 2 ltrs, I am hoping I can jet it up enough for a 2.2 with no frills.
Tigging my old EA81 adapter plate right on to the inlet.
Budget pffft what budget.

Ok, I've just come to an "I'm a dumb-arse" realisation.
The reason this works is that the heads are left/right interchangeable - therefore something needs to be provided on the head to mount stuff like cam gear to the head...
This is a pic of the drivers side head rear

And here is the passenger side rear.

How does that rubber bung come out?

Should be able to get my uncle to do it he use to do it to the old VW, still the basic principles.Ben wrote:I can't see any issues with that carb on an ea82. It's pretty simple and there should be enough old skool mechanics around that can do the jetting properly.

Bernadette Brumby build - post two should be of particular interest. Like any build, several things are often happening all at once so there's no guarantee that all the info is on one post or one page

Cheers
