Hey seagull do me a favour please please please take a photo of the manifold and the dizzy set up and post them please :)

and if stored properly any motor will start with a little fooling around

I once watch a show about a guy who went around America with Robbie Coltraine Starting old and obscure motors, my favorite bit was when they found an air raid siren in a barn, a big block V8 motor attached to a giant blower and horns (stored and wrapped in plastic) all the guy did was make sure the motor cranked cleaned the plugs and bolted on a new holley it cranked up like it was brand new and that hadn't been started since the cold war 35+ years ago.

Ive started and ea81 motor that had been sitting in a rusting hulk for nearly a year after it got a yellow sticker all i did was put a battery in the car and give the carby a huff of aerostart she started and i ended up running her for 6 months in a car before I sold her for a dual port motor

i had my ea82t park up for about 8 years and put some new fuel to the lines and it fired up first go .
it was not stared for that long as no one new the pin code to open the wolf3d up and run .
that did take my a good 3hours of turning on and putting pin numbers in and if not right turn off for 15 sec and on agean

The motor thats in my beetle was sitting upside down in a creek in half a VW apparently the owner had it sitting in the paddock for at least 10 years so cut it up to get in the trailer and to get it there lucky for me it didnt end up in the bottom where it would have filled up with water!

92 targa brumby (weekend runabout),

+ others.

What cam did you end up with? Did you suss out if they're the same between EJ16/18/22?

Should be an interesting project.

its an ej16 cam I love to experiment with ej18 or ej22 cams eventually

I asked in this thread about cam sizes

showthread.php?t=15059

and got these sizes for the cams for the different motors

in open/close ex open/close
EJ22 2/60 50/16
EJ20 4/52 48/12
EJ18 12/58 58/12
EJ16 9/51 54/6

I hope I can get it to run eventually Id love to run an EJ 22 on a dizzy and carby
