Sounds like it will be the WA 2008 bbq.If you want to get the whole country interested I think you would need a minimum of 12 months lead time. There are those that have to plan their leave time that far in advance and also school holidays would have to be factored in as well.

That's where you drag along another subi loving mate or drag in a good friend/fun relative, not to mention your girlfriend too...

2008 at this point in time is too early for me - particularly july. October is maybe do-able depending on what i'm doing this year (its crazy, it all falls into place on monday 7th :()

2009 is looking a lot better plus will give me (and i'm sure others) to have our cars at the point we want them at (lift, tyres, mechanically sound maybe).

Just food for thought. I'd hate to miss out on this trip - especially after the WA bbq!

Cheers

Did it happen this year?
I'm up for one in Alice Springs next year year ('09) in June to watch Brumbyrunner win.
We're planning to go anyway.
It's a bummer for the WA boys distance wise but getting to watch a serious Brumby run in an international event as a group of "subieheads"
has surely got to be the best way to get together. Its the coolest time of year there too.
