Hey Benno,

Welcome to the forum, you've come to the right place to ask these questions.

First off - how much do you like your L? Is it a keeper with you having the time and money to fix the problems you've mentioned?

My outlook for Ruby Scoo (my L in the sig) is to fix her up, new bushes, bearings etc then EJ, lift and sort out my wiring. This way I replace parts that probabily haven't been replaced for a long time (now done 371xxxkm - I've had her since 291xxx), get the drivetrain I want and enjoy. She'll be worth nothing once its done but I won't care, it'll be a crash or rust that kills her, not that I want that to happen.

For a re-power check out this thread - Matt's EJ22 conversion thread

For lift kit get onto Subi Wan Kenobi. I'm looking at a 3 inch for my L, I've heard that if you get a 2 inch you'll want 3... So why get the 2 inch first?

If you want power everything you would probabily be better off getting another wagon - L touring with all the goods or a liberty with EJ and the electrical goods. The other option is to buy a clapped out touring wagon and swap everything into your L if you know how to spin a spanner...

Other's will have info to help you out, sounds like you're in the right part of the continent if you need help (there are many), just ask. I'd suggest you make yourself known in the "your area" section of the forum, you'll meet many in your area this way.

Hope that's some useful info, I dunno why no one has replied to you yet... You've got one now 8)

Cheers

Bennie

thanx man...

yeah was just looking at stuff one day and found this site...
and thought wow i could do that to my little subie!

but the truth is it will probs never happen =[

but i can dream....

i dont really have the know how to repower it or it will take me forever to do it.

will probs just end up buying something newer.

oh and can you get a sump guard for the L series???

Yeah benno, the sump guard is usually standard on the L 4wd models. The liberty it was a factory option. The older MY sump guard should bolt on without a problem - same for the liberty guard if you find one, they're all the same.
