Central Coast Service??

Post by Steve Wyeth » Mon Aug 04, 2008 12:19 pm

Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum so thought I'd say hi:) I've got a 03 WRX that I have owned for a year and it needs a service (currently at 96K). So I'm guessing it's cambelt time too:(

The question is, do you any of you guys recommend anywhere to take my car and have the work done. I'm always wary of main dealers, especially for things like cambelts.

I don't know much about WRX's but I reckon it's an interference engine and don't want a mangled engine due to some apprentice working on my car.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Cheers,

Steve

I don't know if we have any memebrs form teh central coast area. I'm sure if we did and there was a reputable non-factory repairer they knew of they would post it up for you.

Factory servicing is good as long as the dealer you go to is primarily a Subaru dealer. It is when you get mixed manufacturers that you can run in to trouble with "apprentices" not knowing what is going on.

If it is a Subaru accredited dealer then the mechanics would have done hundreds of timing belt services so it wouldn't be an issue with them stuffing it up.
