Liberty RS Ute

Some of you may be aware of this rather long running project of mine. Well finally the wait is over and the RS Ute lives. Here it is seen carting a load of firewood at home.

the good side

and the not so good

Obviously it will never be registered, just a paddock basher for firewood in winter and in summer is being fitted with a 1000 litre water tank and a fire pump to control the odd burnoff we have from time to time. As you can see it has had it's own altercation with fire, I presume after being stolen as the interior was well melted and some paintwork burnt aswell.
Mechanically it uses parts I had spare from various conversions and scrounging over the years. It has a series 1 loom running an early RS engine with VF12 coupled to a gen 2 4.11 Auto. The centre diff has been permanently locked using hi tech roofing screws through the clutch packs. The rear diff is open at the moment but should traction be deficient it will be welded. The auto means it will climb the steep hills at home when weighed down and at a nice slow pace so the wood doesn't end up spread around. For clearance it has a 3 inch body lift with Forester Struts front and Rear. It has the 14 inch steelies with 27 inch offroad tyres so will happlily go most places without bottoming out.
