My 2000 auto RX Lib wag has 236000 on the clock now, I am the second owner and as far as I know it's as it came from the factory.

Timeing bellts were done at 150000 be for I got the car, and I have had it just over 4 years now and going strong.

My 91 L wagon has 327,000 up, motor original and oil tight and not using water or oil, but first and second gears a bit noisy and has noisy rear shockers now ( I think, need some others to try)

Original engine (as far as i know)
Gearbox has had partial reco (Most likely due to the fact when i bought the car the gearbox was dry)
plenty of stuff done to the body etc. but no major parts ever used on the engine! and still going very strong.

My 89 MPFI L-auto is on 386,000 k's and the motor is on it's last gasp. I was thinking EJ, but I have neither the time or motvation to go the non-stock route again. Did that for years with other cars and had enough. Currently looking for another donk. Anyone?

"91 L-series wagon with 336,000 on it. No engine, gearbox or diff changes yet and the engine works really well other than some tappet noise on a hot day.

When I bought my '02 Outback (in 2002) the Subaru dealer's marketing manager pointed out the old beige L-series wagon in the carpark a fellow had just traded in... well he wanted a trade in on it but the value was so low considering the mileage that they didn't give him a trade in on it but took $300 from their marketing budget to buy it and promote the longevity of Subarus. It had 730,000k's on it. All original mechanicals. Shot interior.
'91 Sportswagon - 3" lifted, 14" speedys, 27" Nankangs + lots of small details improved. Wouldn't mind some extra grunt from an EJ.

'91 L-series wagon with 336,000 on it. No engine, gearbox or diff changes yet and the engine works really well other than some tappet noise on a hot day. It has the typical oil leaks from the rocker covers but blows no smoke and am really happy with it's servicing now. I've thrown lots of time and $$ into it with upper cylinder treatments, premium unleaded fuel and new whatever bits every service to keep it running tip top considering it's so gutless with the 27's.

***An interesting high mileage story*** When I bought my '02 Outback (in 2002) the Subaru dealer's marketing manager pointed out the old beige L-series wagon in the carpark a fellow had just traded in... well he wanted a trade in on it but the value was so low considering the mileage that they didn't give him a trade in on it but took $300 from their marketing budget to buy it and promote the longevity of Subarus. 1989 L series Tourer - just ticked over 285,000km on original everything. Still going great but in need of a clutch and some general items.

Mini has 300,000 - on the original A-series engine and I am the second owner - proves regular oil changes makes engines last forever(considering most A series dont go past 150,000). Then I pinged 7400rpm and spun a bearing on the big end of 4. Now rebuilt and 30 thou over 998cc and all the good gear - been sitting for 2 years and waiting to get the time to install it.

Maybe next year...:p

My 88 touring wagon has 188,000 (so a lot more to go before....) the last 44,000 in last 18 months. The original owner must have been old and slow, very clean and no kids or grandchildren, not gone on dirt or 4WD and happy with the original subaru tape radio !
