Unmarked Cop Cars

I have seen all kinds of unmarked cop cars lately, like Toyotas and hondas, but yesterday I seen on the Hiway around the roadworks at Cabulture, an unmarked Red GT Liberty saden, had a young guy on a moterbike pulled over.

I had to look twice becouse I thought I was seeing things, but my first look was right.

It looks just like any other GT Liberty, the red and blue lights are behind the grill and not the dach like some others have.

I hope this unworthy driver of this car dose not get you.

Rik.

We had a Black Holden/Ford Ute up this way near Eumundi in early November and he had 2 x cars pulled over just before the Eumundi turn-off.

A mate was telling me last Friday arvo that he saw a Dk Blue Camry in Caloundra on his way to the RSL.

I for one will be surprised if the Christmas Road Deaths are less than last year.

There used to be a Black Liberty GT sedan around the Northlakes to Caboolture stretch. I saw it just a few weeks back. Maybe they have two now.

WHat sods eh...? How sneaky...

I saw an unmarked Blue 2008 WRX Impreza hatch pulling over an XR8 ute and two uniformed boys n blue having stern words with this chap. WRX had the flashing blue n red LED's on the parcel shelf and the on the dash. Couldnt even see a miriad of UHF/CB etc ariels on the back window like usual either.

The old commodes and foulcans unmarked cars stood out easy before, giving you enough time to slow down a bit etc. NOW...geez... I will certainly be driving a lil bit slower from now on thats for sure with totally undetectable cops going around amongst us. And FINES are huge now....one fine and financially your screwed for months!

Its good I guess, coz there are a tonnes of hoons going round these days driving like absolute idiots, doing burnouts etc. In the industrial area that I work in young guys from a sheetmetal shop regularly fly down a 40km zone doing up to 120 sometimes and smoking up their tyres! IDIOTS!

ALSO, they must have either majorly changed their protocol for CHASER cop cars or converted all these performance cars like the WRX's to AUTOMATIC. Coz all chasers used to have to be automatic, that was why they couldnt use cars like WRXs for a while here in oz. Unless the 2008 model comes in Auto now from the factory?

Yeah..??? Are you sure about the 95 REX..? :???:
Coz I heard that Cop cars were only allowed to be in service up to 20,000kms. Over that cop cars had to be 'retired' and sold, auctioned off.
Unless it was a very low KM rex, but I find that hard to picture.

LOL that would clock up very quick on the highway prolly in like 6 months.

but my parents new car is an Ex Vic police car with 80 something thousand (and alot of extra shit the police put on)

Over here in Vic we're getting marked hummer's for the police to have more of a presence on the streets in the clubbing districts...

Dad also saw a marked lancer - one of the new ones that looks like its going to take off.

We've only got the unmarked falcons and commodore sedans atm, hope it stays that way.

Cheers

Maybe its just the Chasers that get decommisioned after only 20,000 clicks Im not sure. I do know though that they do get taken out of service pretty quickly due to their harder demand on em ie gettin thrashed. hehe
